The Community Impact Fund is one of the most powerful investments United Way makes in our community.
Announcing Community Impact Fund grants
After making very difficult decisions, our volunteers have awarded grants to 124 organzations across our region. Click here to see the grants for each focus area. Click here to see the list of nonprofits receiving Community Impact Fund Grants in 2011-12. Have questions? Click here for some answers to frequently asked questions.
Because of the timing of the grant announcements and the significant changes in year-over-year grant amounts, the United Way Board is using funds from its reserves to provide Transition Assistance to agencies whose grant awards were reduced by 15 percent or more.
About the Community Impact Fund
Trained community investment volunteers review submitted applications to ensure that grants are awarded to programs that are in line with United Way priorities for the upcoming year, and to programs that have demonstrated the ability to achieve measurable results. The Community Impact Fund is composed of gifts from donors who designate their contribution to solving critical community issues. In fiscal year 2011-12, we’re investing $15.2 million in 124 nonprofit organizations across the region. To see our 2011-12 grants, click here. A new investment model
As we developed and implemented our five-year strategic plan, and began work on achieving six bold community goals, we listened to and worked with our partners to identify the key strategies around each goal. Now it is time to ensure our investments are focused and aligned with the drivers of community change, if we are to succeed in ensuring families in our region thrive. As we enter the third year of our five-year strategic plan, our volunteers have recognized several ways that the traditional investment process must shift.
For 2011-12, the process was open to current grantees. But by 2014, the investment cycle will be open. Our new investment model sharpened the focus of our invesments to ensure we reach our community targets.
