Early Education Commission Final Recommendations
Atlanta Leaders Announce New Early Education Initiative
The United Way Early Education Commission (EEC) consists of 23 distinguished and diverse leaders from Atlanta’s business, foundation, government, criminal justice, education, media, entertainment and faith communities. Launched in the fall of 2008, its focus is to investigate the impact of early learning on the short- and long-term economic development of the metro Atlanta area.
The Commission holds monthly meetings with focused presentations and discussions led by renowned specialists in the area of early education. EEC members recently toured preschools in the metro Atlanta area to understand the range and depth of services offered. To view photos of this tour, click here. By the end of the year, the EEC will develop a broad directional agenda and concrete action recommendations for stakeholders in the early childhood community.
