Segue
Yesterday I lived in a society where we were mostly divided
Today I want to live in a world where we are mostly united
And because we have a President who ignited the shortsighted economy
Inviting the uninvited cited his references with the demographic stopped all vehicle traffic to answer the unrequited that
We can lead healthy lives living united
As I watch you chew my words like bubble gum
I am speaking for those whose voices aren't quite as high
For those whose potential education has been brought to a minimum
For those whose income stability will become deceased if taxes increase
We need the support from the elders united
Encouragement from our country undivided
Improvements form the 21st generation whose factual performance has become silenced
But I question.
How can we unite the nation?
If we cannot unite our states?
If we cannot form an alliance amongst our communities
How can we unite with the community?
If we cannot collectively assemble agreements with our family
How can we collectively assemble agreements with family?
If each of us cannot first, consolidate our own anatomy.
Think about it.
Peace.
- Kaila Imani Trimble

Thanksgiving dinner at City of Refuge

The entire roster of Atlanta Hawks players and coaching staff, along with Hawks President Bob Williams, started the holiday season with a special Thanksgiving event at City of Refuge’s Eden Village on November 17. The Hawks served Thanksgiving dinners with all the trimmings to over residents of the facility, located in downtown Atlanta, before posing for pictures and signing autographs. The event helped open the Hawks’ “Season of Giving.”

NBA Cares

Atlanta Hawks players, along with coaches and staff, and United Way volunteers participated in a beautification project on Oct. 14 at Quest 35, Inc. in Atlanta as part of NBA Cares, the league’s global community outreach initiative.
The Hawks provided the supplies and manpower to paint several emergency transitional housing units for homeless men and women. The team also supplied funding for new carpeting for the units that will be installed next week.
