United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta partners with nonprofits, community leaders, businesses and the legislature to address the challenges we face as a community. Together, we support systematic replication of innovation and best practices, stimulate greater financial investments for innovative ideas and solutions and expand needed services.
Building on our knowledge, credibility and historic leadership of service, our United Way is helping lead a community effort over the next five years that will create both stronger and holistic support systems in the priority areas of education, income and health and homelessness.
We know that large-scale problems, such as homelessness, access to affordable health care, high-school dropout rates or families in financial crisis, cannot be solved by a single organization.
Finding solutions to these challenges requires the coordinated effort of our entire community. This is where United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta provides the leadership as a convener and catalyst to help our partners to make lasting change.
We have bold goals for our community. Our plan will help us focus and partner strategically to accomplish our five-year outcomes in systemic, sustainable ways.
Components of the plan will include:
- Community goals, objectives and measures of success
- Capacity Review
- Implementation timeline
- Comprehensive budget
- Overall accountability & monitoring plan
United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta conducts needs evaluations to identify our community’s most pressing needs. We held eight community forums in September and October, 2008 across the region to discuss the most critical issues surrounding education, income and health. Read the summary of notes from the forums.
